Two top athletes from the Barakarunner organization dominated the race at Ørsta over the weekend. John Sompol and Sammy Kurui took the first and second positions respectively thereby preventing a possible American victory in this year's version of the rock-hard course - "Saudehornet right up."
The race is quite popular among the residents not to forget the large number of participants from all corners of the world who were present at Ørsta during the weekend. Despite the masses, the two Barakarunners managed to cling to the top two positions way ahead of several enthusiastic athletes who simply had to admit defeat. John Mnangat Sampol (Start nr. 61) won the race with a strong time of 48:55.

John and Sammy (Kenyans) started the race with high tempo, kept the pace and sped infront of the other participants until they crossed the finishing line. The weather was perfect despite the latest rainy season that earlier led to the postponement of Norway Cup matches in Oslo last friday.
19-year-old Tuva Toftedal was the fastest woman at the race finishing 01:02:00 after start.
