Southern Sudan Referendum voting

KiN wish Southern Sudan a peaceful referendum voting starting today. Results of the day's voting will determine whether the Southerners will be separated from Northern Sudan and continue the creation of a new republic in the region.

The agreement resulting in the decision to effect a referendum vote was reached in Naivasha between the Sudan People's Liberation Army/Movement (SPLA/M) and the Khartoum central government in 2005.

The republic in making has a flag similar to Kenya's with an additional blue triangle and a gold star at the hoist.

The colours of the flag represents the following:
Black - the Southern Sudanese people,
Red - the blood shed for freedom,
Green - the land,
Blue - the waters of the river Nile
Gold Star - unity of the states of Southern Sudan.

The votinng ends on 15th. January 2011.
