Kenya's Deputy Prime Minister and Jubilee alliance presidential candidate, Uhuru Kenyatta, has been cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to contest for presidency in the March 4 general elections.
Accompanied by his running mate, William Ruto, Narc party leader Charity Ngilu, URP Chairman Francis Ole Kaparo and former MPs Najib Balala and Beth Mugo, Uhuru was awarded the official nomination certificate by IEBC Chairman Issack Hassan this Wednesday morning.The DPM was accompanied by Narc party leader Charity Ngilu, former MPs Najib Balala, Beth Mugo and URP chairman Francis Ole Kaparo.
Uhuru joins Martha Karua of NARC Kenya, Peter Kenneth of the Kenya National Congress, James ole Kiyiapi of the Restore and Build Kenya party and Musalia Mudavadi of the United Democratic Forum. The last four candidates were cleared by the IEBC on Tuesday.
The other candidates yet to present their papers include Prime Minister Raila Odinga and his running mate Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, Paul Mwite of Safina and Mohammed Abduba Dida of the Alliance for Real Change.
