Madaraka Day Celebrated in Oslo

KiN Reports
It was a great celebration day in Oslo. It started as early as 08:00 when the Kenyan National Flag was raised at the Association of Kenyans in Norway (AKIN) Chairman's compound. The next was the children's event at Lakkegata School attracting many different nationalities and mostly Kenyan children and their parents. At that event, children took the center stage with games and lots of happy activities. As planned, there was enough food and drinks to all the children and parents who attended the event.

The evening party started at 20:00 (CET) and saw one of the best turn out by celebrities garcing the event as Kenyans and friends danced the night out. Kenyan dishes were in abundance not to mention the 101 dance and songs from our homeland groups. Thanks to the choir for great songs and dance moves. The competitions that followed were creative and entertaining with the MC (Erick) and Dj Vinnie managing the night in Kenyan colours, spirit and sounds.

The Chairman encouraged Kenyans to always remember where they came from much as they were home away from home. He urged Kenyans to invest at home and unite as they focus on the best for Kenya.
