The coalition for reforms and democracy is upset over reports that the police have cancelled their rallies in parts of the north rift. CORD was set to hold what they are calling consultative rallies in Eldoret’s 64 stadium, Iten, and Kapsabet this weekend. Last week Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago said he would not allow what he called incitement in a county that is still reeling from the effects of post-election violence. A statement from the head of cord secretariat Norman Magaya condemned the move saying cord had complied with all constitutional requirements for the 64 stadium rally. This came as the cord senate minority leader Moses Wetangula and other CORD MPs claimed that cord was being targeted unfairly in the summonses over hate speech.
