Westgate Mall Terror Attack: Lest we forget

It’s been one year now since the Westgate mall terror attack, but Kenyans are not any closer to knowing the identities of the attackers and accomplices, than they were on september 21st 2013. Although the Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for the attacks, no one has been successfully prosecuted for the terror visited on innocent children, women and men, neither has anyone been held to account for the intelligence and security lapses that made it so easy for the terrorists to penetrate an otherwise well guarded mall. Kenyans have waited for long to the know the truth about the attack but a commission of inquiry promised by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday 21st 2013 is yet to be established. And as Eric Njoka reports, speculation is rife, that the government has since decided not to proceed with the promised investigation.
