Safia Adbi Haase has won the covetted Norwegian Knight 1st Class of the Order of St. Olav award. The King's medal and the prize will be awarded to Safia at a red carpet ceremony in Oslo this Friday.
Safia won the prize for her many years' work geared towards improving the livelihood of women, the girl child and more primarily for her tireless fight against female genital mutilation.
