Oil Discovered in Kenya

It has been a long search for oil in Kenya but waiting and speculation time is over, Kenya has discovered oil and will soon be a producer and a beneficiery of the cherished product. The news is a good one for Kenya which is the business and tourist hub in East Africa.

President Mwai Kibaki termed the discovery made in Turkana by Anglo-Irish firm Tullow Oil after several exploratory attempts 'a major breakthrough'.

Personally I only heard about the Kenyan oil discovery today, so for those who still don’t know, here’s a fairly comprehensive article I read (http://www.pressdisplay.com/pressdisplay/showlink.aspx?bookmarkid=0HON95VE9QQ8&preview=article&linkid=dd797553-40ba-445f-a094-e448ce6622d0&pdaffid=ZVFwBG5jk4Kvl9OaBJc5%2bg%3d%3d) so hopefully it’ll bring everyone up to speed. Cheers!

The oil discovered is light and waxy and is more valuable than thick crude oil. It may take years to start full blown production but there is more value some 8000 feet under Ngamia 1 area in Turkana.

I've followed the search for Kenyan oil for years and am happy to see the progress. This is good news for our country.
