The 'King of Pop', Michael Jackson from Gary, Indiana, is reported to have suffered a cardiac arrest and died Thursday (26.06.2009). According to the Los Angeles County Coroner's office, paramedics were unable to revive Michael after the futile arrest that occured at his Holmby Hills residence. Reports have it that he was already clinically dead when the paramedics arrived at his residence. The late Michael was non responsive to resuscitative attempts made by the paramedics both at his home and later at the hospital.
Reports of Jackson's death led to media chaos on the net. Thia was partly die to lack of clear presentation of the case by the most established media houses. TMZ.com was the first to report that Michael had been driven to the hospital. The problem is that TMZ is not considered to be a serious media house by some established journalists and media comunity. TMZ was also the first and only media channel to report that Michael was dead. They reported the news at 14.44. TMZ is owned by Time Warner who also owns CNN but the latter had to wait with the news until after Los Angeles Times and AOL had reported the same, 600 seconds after TMZ.
Michael Jackson had several No. 1 hits among which 'Thriller', the best-selling album of all time is more than worth mentioning. Pop industry has lost a true icon.
