Barakarunners are excelling from one race to the next. At Skåla Uphill race in Norway, one of the toughest mountain races, John Sompol won the 5th WMRA Grand Prix race ahead of World Champion Jonathan Wyatt by 5 seconds. Sammy Kurui, another Barakarunner finished 5th. The weather was terrible with snow and wind piercing through the veins as the athletes struggled up the mountain. There were 1500 participants who dared the tough 8,2 km mountain race with a total climb of 1814 meters. All participants had to carry a sack weighing 2,5 kgs of warm wear, food and drinks. This year's race was the toughest in its 8 year history, thanks to the terrible winter weather.
