The death of eight football fans has cast a dark shadow over the smooth running of the Kenyan Premier League. President Mwai Kibaki has ordered tighter measures in security of sports venues around the country to avoid any further incidents of this nature. After the tragedy that left at least 8 people dead and scores injured at the Nyayo National Stadium during the Kenya Premier League match between Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards, crowd control seems to be the issue that is marring the stadium's safety record. So far nine people have been treated and discharged from Kenyatta National Hospital. President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga have promised that the government will probe the tragic incident with a view to averting them. Willis Raburu tells us more.
