WikiLeak's Storm in Kenya

The wikileak's dossier on Kenya appears to be having an impact on the diplomatic relations between Kenya and the United States. The government however says officials of the United States administration have apologised to Kenya over the anticipated damaging wikileaks cables touching on Kenya. Us ambassador Michael Rannerberger has downplayed the issue saying it will not put a strain on the relationship between the two countries. And as Pamela Asigi reports, the government say the dossier is not a true representation of Kenya.

The government is now accusing the American embassy in Nairobi of working hard to create despondency following reports that the US government does not think very highly of Kenyan leaders. Government spokesman Dr. Alfred Mutua says the reports which appeared in leaked documents published by wikileaks, indicate that briefings by the US ambassador to Kenya, Michael Ranneberger, paint a very gloomy picture for Kenya in as far as governance is concerned.
