Kenya's Internal Security minister Prof George Saitoti, his deputy Orwa Ojode and four others were killed when a Police helicopter (Aerospatiale 350B3e Ecureuil (squirrel) - 5Y-CDT)) crashed in Kibiku area in Ngong Sunday morning. The two leaders, their bodyguards and two pilots perished in the accident. The helicopter is reported to have exploded on impact.
The helicopter took off from Wilson Aiport and was headed towards Ndhiwa in Homabay County where the two ministers were to attend a funds drive for Nyarongi Catholic Church.
