New Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg and family |
Norway's parliamentary elections ended with high notes and a resulting change of the country's top political leadership. The new Prime Minister to be is Erna Solberg of the Conservative Party(H). She will form a coalition government together with the Christian Democratic Party (Kristelig Folkeparti), Liberal Party (Venstre) and the Progress Party (Fremskrittspartiet). The four parties together gannered 96 parliamentary seats compared to the Norwegian Labour Party-led-coalition's 72 seats and the Green Party's one mandate.
According to Norwegian parliamentary election law, the new Prime Minister takes office after the former has presented the annual budget of the election year. In this case, Erna Solberg will receive the Prime Ministerial mantle this October.
We at KiN congratulate Erna Solberg and her coalition.
